I'm not sure I like how the metal work/jewellery sections are categorised...
Within the jewellery section the options are based on the kind of jewellery (bracelets/rings etc) rather than the processes or materials.
It seems more shopping catalogue than art gallery. Fair enough, a lot of people use dA to sell their work, and it's hard to say Jewellery and Silversmithing isn't commercial, but this isn't ebay. It is a site for artistic expression more than it is one for shopping.
From a browsing point of view as well as as an artist submitting work, I'd rather filter by materials and processes than by necklaces or earrings.
Jewellers work isn't specialised, usually, by brooch-maker or bracelet-maker.
Sure, people do tend towards making particular things, but we specialise more often by processes - just as a painter or illustrator might lean more towards fantasy, landscapes or portraiture. Categorising jewellery the way it is here seems to me a bit like categorising Traditonal Art > Painting by 'On Canvas', 'Watercolor' or 'Acrylic'. Or by size. Here, categorising by material isn't as effective as by subject - but necklace or bracelet isn't the subject of a jewellery piece.
For example, no body says Peter Chang ([link]) the bangle-and-brooch maker - he's known for amazing plastics work.
It doesn't have to be detailed - just base metals/precious metals (or castings or something like that)/stone settings/beadwork+glass/textiles/enamel/plastics/mixed media would be enough.
And the metal work section doesn't even have any subdivisions. What to do what to do.
